Your rights as a disabled bus/coach passenger or passenger with limited mobility
The transport company must not prevent you from entering the bus/coach, except in the following two exceptional circumstances:
- if current health and safety requirements would be compromised;
- if the vehicle or infrastructure (e.g. bus stops and terminals) make the safe entering and leaving of the vehicle, or the actual transport, impossible.
The company must also not impose any surcharges.
Do you require assistance? The transport company is obliged to provide it, providing you have notified them at the latest 36 hours before the time of departure. Assistance must be free of charge.
Has your wheelchair or other mobility aid(s) been lost or damaged during the journey? In such cases you can claim compensation equal to the cost of replacement or repair of the material/equipment.
